Il Buio Confine del Colore

Formichetti e Schifano: dialogo tra spirito e materia

Darkness, the Boundary of Colour, he exhibition explores the tension between light and darkness, investigating how colour emerges at the threshold of shadow. Curated by Luca Beatrice, the exhibition presents a dialogue between the works of Mario Schifano and Silvio Formichetti.

The installation is structured through a sequence of black and white architectural planes that guide visitors through the gallery space. Dark surfaces absorb light and frame the artworks, while white walls amplify the presence of colour, allowing paintings to appear as luminous moments within the exhibition.

Through contrast, light and colour become the primary tools of the installation. The exhibition design transforms the gallery into a controlled spatial environment where artworks gradually emerge from darkness, reinforcing the conceptual dialogue between light, colour and shadow.

The project was realised thanks to the collaboration between the Municipality of Pescara and the Fondazione Pescarabruzzo.
