PHILOSOPHY

At ALTRN., architecture is understood as a cultural and communicative act. Space is never neutral, it conveys values, behaviours, and intentions before it is perceived as form. Our work begins with interpretation, reading context, brand, and use as systems of signs that inform spatial decisions.

Design is approached as a language rather than an aesthetic exercise. Material, proportion, layout, and sequence are composed to ensure that architecture communicates with clarity, precision, and purpose.

METHOD AND COLLABORATION

Each project is developed through a tailored constellation of expertise, assembled according to scale, context, and intent.

We work as a strategic and interpretive partner, engaging closely with clients to translate ambition, identity, and complexity into spatial coherence. Through analysis, dialogue, and precise design decisions, we give form to what is often implicit rather than declared.

The practice collaborates with a curated network of specialists across disciplines including lighting design, industrial design, landscape, engineering, graphic design, and research, as well as academic and cultural contributors when relevant. Collaboration is embedded in the process, not added to it, ensuring that every discipline contributes to the clarity, integrity, and meaning of the architectural outcome.

THE PRACTICE

 

​ALTRN. is founded by SHARÒN COHEN MOORE and operates at the intersection of architecture, interior design, and spatial strategy, with a focus on high-end, cultural, and luxury environments.

​

The practice draws on extensive experience working at a global level with leading luxury houses including PRADA, MIU MIU, CHURCH’S, MARCHESI, FENDI, and BURBERRY, where Sharòn held senior architectural and design positions. This background informs ALTRN.’s approach to space as a strategic asset, where identity, use, and performance are inseparable.

ALTRN. is conceived as a platform rather than a conventional studio, allowing each project to be approached with precision, independence, and intellectual rigor, while remaining grounded in construction, brand, and experience.
