Teatro d’Acqua - Royal Palace
of Venaria Reale

Located in the Court of Honour of the Royal Palace of Venaria Reale, the project reinterprets the historic Fontana del Cervo, originally built in the 17th century and once positioned at the centre of the courtyard.

The intervention transforms the archaeological traces of the original fountain into a contemporary “water theatre”: an elliptical composition of 99 programmable jets capable of varying height, pressure and colour while synchronising with music and performance. Occasionally used as a stage for open-air theatre and public events, the installation reactivates the courtyard as a civic and cultural space.

Through light, movement and water, the project restores the presence of the historic fountain while introducing a contemporary layer within the monumental Baroque setting of the palace.
